New digital bell for Kirkcudbright Parish Church

The congregation are pleased to announce that they have recently received a grant of over £5,500 from the Kirkcudbright Common Good Fund towards the cost of replacing the bell on the steeple clock.

The total cost of the work will be around £8,500 with money from the church’s Organ and Clock fund making up the difference.

The old bell sound system was becoming increasingly difficult to maintain safely and a decision was made to replace it with a new digital system. The digital bell will chime on the hour as per the old system.

Work should be completed by the end of March and then we can all look forward to hearing the reassuring and helpful hourly chime.
